I'm a home Crossfitter so I don't have all of the equipment handy to do WOD's and must substitute a lot. One piece of equipment that is utilized very often is the kettlebell, in varying weights. I don't want to invest a
lot of money in a set of three kettlebells: 1, 1.5 and 2 pood, standard weights for Crossfit workouts. So a typical substitution is a dumbbell of comparable weight. But that feels pretty clumsy with no great way to grip the dumbbell during a kettlebell swing. So I investigated a solution and discovered the Kettlestack, a typical kettlebell handle that you can mount standard 1" bore weights on. I ordered the mid stack to accommodate two pood which cost $58.97 plus shipping. The item arrived within a few days. It was easy to set up with the included tools and instructions. The handle is sturdy and after six weeks I haven't had any problems. Knowing the WOD the previous night for the next morning, I can have the appropriate weight set up in a few minutes ahead of time. This is such an improvement over trying to hold onto a dumbbell. I've never used a real kettlebell so can't compare to that, but my pinkies do need to go on the outside of the handle. However, that hasn't been an issue. Highly recommended for the home Crossfitter who doesn't want to break the bank on tons of gear!
