Romney Bad Choice for GOP

Mitt Romney won the straw poll for Republican Presidential nominee in 2012 at the Southern Republican Leadership meeting over the weekend, beating out Ron Paul (by one vote) and "tea party favorite" Sarah Palin. The fact that Romney is even considered is cause for concern. The GOP's big push in the next two elections will come from opposition to Obamacare. So who do some propose to lead the charge? The creator of Romneycare, the state-level version of Obamacare. If Republicans stand a chance of winning, by getting a swing in independent votes, they will have to do better (and by better I don't mean Palin). Romney certainly wouldn't get my vote. He is as different from Obama as McCain was. Ron Paul, while being weak on foreign policy (only compared to the ideal, not compared to recent presidents), at least sticks to his principles and is a committed Austrian when it comes to economics.
