The Origin of Sandi Trixx

In case anyone was wondering, the name Sandi Trixx originated around 1996. Some friends and I decided to start a mock '80's hair metal band that was dubbed "Slikk Trixx". We all needed great '80's names. So we sort of borrowed from the Ramones and kept a common last name of "Trixx". There was the lead singer, Richie Trixx. Bass player Dana Trixx. Drummer Joey Roxx (that was just funnier, and we knew two drummers named Joe who would play depending on schedule). And I played guitar and took the name Sandi Trixx, which was an homage to all of the '80's rockers who had girl names(Traci Gunns comes to mind). We would don long haired wigs, Jack Daniels t-shirts with the sleeves cut off, fake tattoos, wrist bands, and acid washed jeans with lots of rips. We wrote a few songs like "Sugar Mama"and "P-A-R-T-Y", and a power ballad that had a cheesy line like 'I've got a shoebox full of quarters but I only need a dime" (mocking that '80's hair metal phony wisdom/depth, a la "Every Rose Has it's Thorn" or "Don't Know What You've Got 'Til It's Gone" - ahh, so wise, those sages of glam!). It was a lot of fun and made us laugh really hard. Some recordings were done at the late Dave Serge's studio and I had a copy on cassette tape (remember those) which got eaten and mangled by a walkman but I was able to get some of it transferred onto my PC. Here's "Sugar Mama" for your listening pleasure (you can hear where the tape got mangled at the end):
